Applications for Bridge funds will be prioritized for delayed projects with a high likelihood of eventually receiving funding, such as non-competitive renewals. New proposals delayed at various stages of agency/peer review are still very uncertain—even with fundable scores—and therefore will receive lower priority.

While we cannot give a definitive answer for each potential scenario, Bridge grant requirements are not overly prescriptive. You should discuss your project with your divisional and departmental leadership to determine if it is a potential fit for the program and whether they are able to commit matching funds to your specific scenario.

The University will consider any award on which a faculty member is listed as the PI. At this time, the University does not have the capacity to expand the program to fellowships or other awards given directly to trainees. Bridge/Pivot funds obtained by PIs can be used to support stipends/salaries for trainees.
