Associate Vice Provost and Deputy Chief Compliance Officer for Research
Thomas Burns was named Associate Vice Provost and Deputy Chief Compliance Officer for Research in 2024. In this role, he is responsible for compliance in several key research compliance areas including research integrity, conflicts of interest in research, export controls, classified research, research biosafety compliance, and animal research compliance. He works to ensure that research activities throughout the University operate within a culture of integrity, accountability and transparency. He holds a J.D. and an M.B A. and has been a frequent presenter for NCURA and SRAI.
