Dr. Keri Althoff is the 2019-2023 Provost’s Fellow for Research Communication. In this new role, Dr. Althoff is expanding our institutional capacity in sharing our faculty’s research achievements through increased training and resources. She created a do-it-yourself dissemination tool kit, which provides guidance for researchers to better fulfill their responsibility of disseminating their results to the general public. She is growing the visibility of several individual faculty on social media in order to expand the exposure of Johns Hopkins research through unique personas. Additionally, she was a member of the Hopkins on the Hill planning team and provided valuable training to the institution’s presenters.
Prior to becoming an accomplished epidemiologist, Dr. Althoff worked in public relations and journalism. She is currently an Associate Professor of Epidemiology in the Bloomberg School of Public Health and co-directs the North American AIDS Cohort Collaboration on Research and Design (NA-ACCORD). In 2018, she won a Johns Hopkins Catalyst Award and was selected for the School of Medicine’s Leadership Program for Women Faculty.
