In June 2025, 20 early career faculty members were selected to receive Johns Hopkins Catalyst Awards, an honor that is accompanied by a $100,000 grant, mentoring opportunities, and institutional recognition.
This year’s Catalyst Award recipients are leading a diverse range of innovative research initiatives including early warning systems to prevent clinical deterioration and inpatient deaths, an exploration of the legacy of Spanish poet Federico García Lorca, and a novel therapy for treatment-resistant depression.
These experts represent deparments across the institution, including Applied Mathematics and Statistics, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Epidemiology, Genetic Medicine, Modern Languages & Literatures, and Physics & Astronomy.
