In May 2023, thirty-seven early career faculty members were selected to receive Johns Hopkins Catalyst Awards, an honor that is accompanied by a $75,000 grant, mentoring opportunities, and institutional recognition.
This year’s Catalyst Awardees will investigate a host of novel research areas including global methane emissions, how the gut microbiome could treat HIV-associated psychiatric symptoms, topological stars and their observables, and ancient healing arts.
These experts represent twenty-nine departments—including Dermatology, Environmental Health & Engineering, International Economics, Music Theory, and Neurosurgery.
