Hopkins on the Hill is a biennial showcase of the range, value, and impact of federally-funded research and programming at Johns Hopkins University.
The 2023 event was held from 5:30-7:30PM on June 7, 2023 in the Kennedy Caucus Room of the Russell Senate Office Building.
History of Hopkins on the Hill
The inaugural event was held in 2017 in the Kennedy Caucus Room of the Russell Senate Office Building (see photo gallery here). More than 250 guests, including Maryland Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen, attended the first Hopkins on the Hill to learn about and interact with cutting-edge, federally-funded programs and researchers from across Johns Hopkins.
We hosted Hopkins on the Hill 2019 in the Rayburn Cafeteria of the Rayburn House Office Building with interactive presentations from 21 teams representing all parts of the university (read more here). U.S. Reps. Elijah Cummings and David Trone, both from Maryland, attended the showcase, as did more than 500 others including members of the JHU community, Capitol Hill staffers, and the general public.
Hopkins on the Hill at Home 2021 was held weekly on the Hopkins at Home platform throughout May and June 2021. Click here to see the videos.
Hopkins on the Hill 2023, hosted in the Kennedy Caucus Room (see photo gallery and article), welcomed more than 500 delegates, legislators, congressional staffers, and representatives from government agencies to see firsthand a slice of the federally funded research and programming at Johns Hopkins University. Maryland Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen, U.S. Reps. Steny Hoyer, Jamie Raskin and David Trone, and DC Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton attended the biennial event.
