Daniel Polsky is a leader in health economics and health care policy. His research focuses on quantifying and confronting inherent tradeoffs in health care interventions that seek to improve quality and access to care in a way that preserves affordability for families and society. He has served on several state and national policy advisory boards, where his research informs important decisions on health care policy.
Polsky is interested in understanding the cost and quality tradeoff of health care interventions that address care, access, coverage, and payment. His most recent work focuses on how to provide access to quality health care among vulnerable groups such as populations in rural settings, beneficiaries in publicly supported insurance programs, and patients with behavioral health and substance use disorders. Based on the core belief that, because health is everyone’s business, in one way or another, we are all in the business of health, Polsky seeks to align and unite Johns Hopkins around research on advancing the business of health.
Polsky joined Johns Hopkins University as a Bloomberg Distinguished Professor in 2019 from the University of Pennsylvania.
